Recycled Rainbow @ Notacon. Friday night’s experience

Recycled Rainbow wants YOU to get involved in the performance! On Friday, April 16th, the organizers of Recycled Rainbow will take control over the Notacon ballroom and transform it into a palette upon which YOU can build your own interactive experience!

As part of that interactive experience, they need YOUR images & music to include in their multimedia presentation. Therefore, we are calling out to everyone in the Notacon community to submit all photos & images to by April 15th.

We ask you to wear as much WHITE as possible during this presentation, as it will enhance your ability to interact with the project. White shoes, pants, shirts, hats, gloves … MASKS!

As a bonus, they’ll be DJ’ing music as a backdrop to the presentation (dancing is both permitted & encouraged!) They want suggestions for songs YOU would like to hear! Email them to

So get involved now and start your Notacon experience early. Then join us on Friday night when we dim the lights and turn on myriad projectors for an event you have to show up and build to fully appreciate!

And don’t forget: Friday night, wear white!

Notacon 7 feature: Locksport

Many of you likely remember the lockpicking village the last couple of years. This year, FOOLS have a lot of other commitments going on, so we heartily welcome our new hosts of the Lockpicking Village, Cleveland Locksport! There’s a lot of buzzing about what the Cleveland Locksport group has up their sleeve for the village this year, so make sure to stop by the Embassy room on the third floor to see what they’re up to!

Also this year we will be featuring another challenge from Deviant Ollam of TOOOL, The Defiant Box:

“In the tradition of the classic 1958 film “The Defiant Ones” this contest is played by paired teammates… who must tackle the challenge of a series of locks while they are shackled together. The handcuffs come off… but that’s the last thing you remove. “

Notacon needs sponsors!

I’ll be upfront and to the point. Notacon is set to lose a lot of money this year. A loooot of money. Due to the overwhelming use of group registrations, combined with a couple sponsorship opportunities that fell through, we are currently slated to lose anywhere between $4,000 and $8,000 this year at Notacon. We being Tyger and I personally.

So I put out an impassioned plea to all of you. We need sponsors. Badly. Whether it’s putting an ad in the program to a 140 character Notacon shout-out to a becoming a bonafide and named Notacon sponsor, we need your help to survive. In order to do that I’m willing to make whatever deals I can to make sure Notacon stays solvent and provides everyone with an ever-improving weekend full of education and fun that we have provided for over 6 years now.

So if you’re on the fence about sponsoring or never even considered in the first place, now is the time when we need you most. All of us are putting everything we have into this event in terms of time, talent and resources. Let’s make sure the tradition can continue!

Notacon Radio looking for shows!

It’s that time of year again! Notacon is right around the corner and Notacon Radio will be returning bigger and better broadcasting live from the Hippodrome in the fabulous Wyndham at Playhouse Square, April 15th through the 18th.

We need volunteers that want to host a show, debate a topic, interview a speaker, explain their passion, recite a poem, read Fox in Socks, or just have a good time. Even if you have an idea for a discussion panel–we’ll make it happen!

If you don’t see it in the near future, please check your spam folder (for some reason people report it ends up there sometimes. How sad!).
