Professional wear…

Friday, December 11th, 2009

Have you found yourself wanting to represent Notacon at your workplace, or an otherwise not-so-casual environment? Now’s your chance to get your voice heard. We are evaluating ordering some non-tshirt apparel, but would like to hear from the community before we send anything to print. Please visit our survey and let us know what types of apparel you’d be interested in purchasing.

After we get a feel for the level of interest, we will vet some designs and let the community comment before sending anything to print.

Also, until December 14, get free priority mail shipping at the Notacon store on $30+ orders. Use the coupon code FREESHIPPING2009 at checkout!

A hackerspace? In Cleveland?

Friday, December 11th, 2009

The Makers’ Alliance has been receiving growing interest here in Cleveland as we start to look around for a physical location for our first Cleveland hackerspace. Tonight there were 19 people at the meeting in Lakewood.

If you’re in the greater Cleveland area and interested in joining, supporting, or in some other way participating with the formation of this space, please get in touch or join the mailing list. Meetings will be regularly scheduled starting after the holidays. The site will progressively get more information as things get organized.

Notacon is strongly affiliated with The Makers’ Alliance and hope that these two conjoined communities can thrive for many years to come.

Interview with Jeri Ellsworth

Monday, December 7th, 2009

Blockparty speaker and cohost of Fatman and Circuit Girl Jeri Ellsworth was interviewed by A life well wasted, “An internet radio show about videogames and the people who love them.” The link has been going around twitter, and I just listened to it myself. She goes over a lot of information about her history, and the production quality on this podcast is impressive. Whether you know a lot about Jeri, or not much at all, this interview will enlighten. Listen here.

Hotel reservation link now available.

Thursday, December 3rd, 2009

The Wyndham has just sent us the link for reserving hotel rooms. We appologize for the delay in getting this information available. Details have been updated on the travel page.

Rooms are $95/night and the rate is available from April 13 through April 21, 2010. We encourage you to make a vacation of it and see some of the sites that Cleveland has to offer.

Valet overnight parking is $20/night with in and out privileges. Self parking is $14/night with in and out privileges. Daily Event Parking is $10.

As a reminder, Wyndham Cleveland Playhouse Square is a non-smoking establishment. If this interferes with your plans, there are other hotels in the area that might still allow smoking. If you have any special needs or requests, please notify the front desk. The more rooms we book, the more ability we have to arrange “quiet” floors. If you are considering using another hotel, please remember that rooms booked under the Notacon code help toward our costs for this event.
