Video Montage from 2008

Thursday, April 17th, 2008

Gudshu put together a nifty montage of happenings from Notacon/Blockparty 2008 this year:

If you have cool video, pics or other media to share, let us know in the comments!

A group of Notaconers will be at Penguicon in Troy, MI this weekend. Jason Scott (co-founder of BlockParty) will be giving multiple presentations, and I’m sure every one of them will be a hit! Sam Harmon will also be giving another workshop on circuit bending, which I can highly recommend.

If you see someone in a Notacon shirt, make sure to stop by and say hi.

Notacon 5: the aftermath

Monday, April 7th, 2008

Notacon 5 was by almost all accounts a huge success. We’re still finalizing details on the administrative end, but the survey reactions were overwhelming positive. Details for Notacon 6 will start being posted as soon as they are known. We hope to have the dates decided by early June, and will likely open registration and our call for proposals as soon as the dates are final.

Until then, if you’ve written a blog post or other write-up, we’d like to link to it from our write-ups section. A portion of these we will probably find on our own through google, but we might not catch all the links. If your writeup gets missed from the list, please comment to this entry and I’ll make sure to add it. Let’s get together to spread the good word to those who were unable to attend this year.

We will be linking to the main category of Notacon photos on flickr instead of individual galleries, so remember to tag those photos. If you do not use flickr and prefer to use your own gallery, but still want people to see your Notacon photos, please leave a comment with the URL.

See you in 2009!

Notacon – during the con

Saturday, April 5th, 2008

Notacon 5 is totally the best notacon to date. If you are not here you are totally missing out. Keep an eye out for our media as it gets posted after the conference.

Remember, the talks are posted, but the after party and games are not!

Come for the talks, stay for the community.

There is still time to come to a full day of presentations, and the bulk of Blockparty!

The podcast has been posted of our interview with Meet the Bloggers on March 13. We are as frenetic and disjointed in conversation as we are in con planning. :)
